It is unusual to find a young lady these days who uses lipstick, as many prefer the natural look of a lip gloss or lip sheen. But I personally am still in search of that perfect lipstick right for me (enough of horrible shades of lip colours in my sec sch choir days). Here’s some tips to getting that perfect pout:
1) Not everyone is born with Angelina Jolie’s well defined lips. Use a lip liner in the shade of your natural lip colour to correct the shape of your lips. Go slow and steady with the lip liner. To make lip smaller, line the inner part of your lips, or to make the lips look thicker, line outside your lip shape.

2) To create the illusion of a fuller lips, use concealer or foundation just above and on natural lip line. Make sure it blends well and you will have the illusion of a full lips.
3) If you have an overpowering lower lip, use a lip liner to define the ‘cupid bow’ (which is tip of your lips), while leaving your lower lips alone. This will balance the effect of the bottom lip and top lip.

4) Bright red lipstick can really set you apart from the crowd, but it is not suitable for all skin types. If you have a healthy tan, use the warmer tones of lip colours instead, like the browns and the beige. You can also use a lip sheen/gloss with a tinge of bronze or gold in it. For those with relatively fair skin, be adventurous to try the reds and the fuschia pinks. Just make sure you have the right outfit on, like our model Claudine below.
